Shocking moment alleged car thieves pull a gun on cops as they try to smash the window as it speeds away – before both are tracked down and arrested

Dramatic footage shows the moment cops yell ‘drop the gun’ while trying to smash the window of a moving car when two alleged thieves behind the wheel threatened them with a firearm.
Police tried to pull the white Nissan SUV over on Carpenter Street in the western Sydney suburb of Cloyton about 12.15pm on Tuesday when the situation turned dire.
In a video shared on social media on Tuesday, officers desperately tried to stop the 29-year-old man and his female passenger, 21, from driving off in the vehicle that was allegedly stolen from Victoria last week.

One cop jumped in front of the Nissan on the suburban road while another seemed to wrestle with the driver through the window, screaming at the pair to ‘drop the gun now’.
When the officer moved away from the front of the car to try and break the driver’s side window, the motorist seized the opportunity and sped off.
Police said in a statement that the vehicle was found about 20 minutes up the road on Hanlan Street in Cranebrook.
During a patrol of the area, police found the female passenger who tried unsuccessfully to escape on foot.
The male driver was seen running into bushland, prompting an extensive search with the help of dogs, helicopters, and riot quads cops.

He was eventually arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station where he was hit with 13 assault and gun-related charges, including common assault and possessing an unregistered prohibited firearm in a public place.
The woman faces 17 charges including two counts of driving while disqualified and multiple theft-related crimes.
They were both refused bail and are expected to appear at Penrith Local Court on Wednesday.
