Bachelor Nation’s Raven Gates talks pregnancy and what she looks forward to most: ‘I’ve wanted to be a mom for a long time’

Bachelor Nation’s Raven Gates recently opened up about her excitement regarding the impending arrival of her first child.

The 30-year-old reality television personality gave her thoughts about the upcoming change to her life during an interview with People, where she noted that the prospect of becoming a mother was ‘exciting.’

The influencer will share her soon-to-arrive child with her husband, Adam Gottschalk, whom she initially met during the fourth season of Bachelor In Paradise.

Gates began by noting that she found out she was pregnant soon after tying the knot with her husband this past April and that she had desired to start a family for several years. 

She expressed, ‘We found out right after the wedding. I’ve wanted to be a mom for a long time. And I always imagined creating a family with someone I love so much. And expanding my love with Adam into a human, I can’t even imagine!’

The reality television personality also gave the media outlet a bit of information about her physical well-being during the length of her pregnancy.

She noted that she had experienced ‘some food aversions…and the lack of energy is probably what I’ve struggled with the most. It’s tough.’

Gottschalk, 31, also expressed happiness about the prospect of fatherhood but pointed out that he was still enjoying his time with just his wife.

He said, ‘It’s all great and I’m excited, but I’m also glad the baby doesn’t come right away. I have nine months to get ready!’ 

Gates also revealed that she and her husband had opted to undergo genetic testing in order to understand what health-related conditions that their child could potentially have.

‘We wanted to have as much knowledge as possible about issues that may come up or diseases we may be carrying. It’s really important. And it was super easy,’ she said.

The influencer concluded by revealing that she and fellow Bachelor In Paradise alum Ashley Iaconetti have been in close contact and often discuss their respective pregnancies.

She said: ‘Ashley and I have been DMing each other about all things baby. We’re going through different things. And we’re not due that far apart!’

Gates and Gottschalk initially met on the fourth season of the Bachelor spinoff.

She had previously appeared on the 21st run of the smash hit ABC show, and her husband had also been featured on the 13th season of The Bachelorette.

Although they did not immediately become engaged at the end of Bachelor In Paradise, the two remained together and worked on their relationship over the next few years.

In May of 2019, Gottschalk revealed that he had popped the question to Gates, who had accepted.

They originally planned to host their wedding ceremony in May of 2020, although they pushed it back due to the onset of the global pandemic.

The two eventually tied the knot during an intimate ceremony that was held this past April.

The happy couple’s baby is scheduled to arrive this coming January.
