Australian singer Tones and I is celebrating her debut studio album, Welcome to the Madhouse, reaching no.1.

The 27-year-old, whose hits include Dance Monkey, has just scored her first ARIA no.1 album and shared the news to her Instagram on Friday. 

Not only that, but the music artist has revealed that she isn’t quitting music after reports earlier this week.

Tones and I, whose real name is Toni Watson, celebrated the ARIA win by posting an image of herself in a beanie and beige coat holding the Australia-shaped award with a big no. 1 in the centre.

‘NUMBER 1 in AUS!!’ the singer wrote. ‘Thank you so f**king much wow!!!’ 

She added: ‘Just goes to show the good always outweighs the bad!!! Wohooooooo, this is for you T.’

Tones and I then added the hashtag, ‘#notquitting,’ insinuating that she won’t be quitting music.

Earlier this week, Tones and I said she wanted to kiss her career as a live performer goodbye to work behind the scenes of the music industry instead.

Talking to Gawndy & Maz, the 27-year-old said she had plans to step away from the stage because of the toll it took on her mental health.

‘I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be Tones and I for,’ she said, adding that she wants to become a songwriter for other artists in the next few years.

‘I mean, realistically, I’m going to give myself another four years [of performing] and then I want to be a songwriter,’ she continued. 

‘As soon as my mental health isn’t wanting to do this, I’m stopping. I’m not pushing through this; I want to be happy.’ 

The musician become an overnight success upon the release of her 2019 single Dance Monkey, which shot to No. 1 across the globe.
