Portion of stage COLLAPSES at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami just a day before Rolling Loud music festival is set to take place

  • The collapse occurred one day before the Rolling Loud hip-hop music festival it set to kick off 
  • The collapse occurred because a projection screen not been secured properly

A portion of a stage has collapsed at the Rolling Loud music festival in Miami, just one day before the event is set to kick off with thousands expected to attend.   

At around 5pm Thursday evening, a video wall connected to one of the stages at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, collapsed on the Audiomack Stage during loading because a projection screen not been secured properly. 

According to the music festival, no was injured and the festival is scheduled to take place as planned. 

‘In case you see it on the news, a screen fell down at one of our stages. Nobody was hurt and it will be fixed before doors open tomorrow. The show goes on!’ Rolling Loud tweeted Thursday.

The stage is currently being reset for the weekend and there are no active paramedics or firefighters at the stadium due to the collapse, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said. 

Rolling Loud is an annual three-day hip-hop music festival that will take place between July 23 and July 25. 

This year’s headliners will include performances from A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott and Post Malone.   

In addition to other events, the festival was canceled last year because of the coronavirus pandemic. It was originally set for May 2020, but was rescheduled several times.
