Celeste and Arlo Parks lead the stars shortlisted for Hyundai Mercury Prize’s Album Of The Year award

The shortlist for the Hyundai Mercury Prize for Album Of The Year was revealed on Thursday.

And Celeste and Arlo Parks lead the stars nominated for the prestigious award which promotes the best of British and Irish music.

Alongside the pair, Berwyn, Black Country, New Road, Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra, Ghetts, Hannah Peel, Laura Mvula, Mogwai, Nubya Garcia, SAULT and Wolf Alice’s latest releases have also been nominated.

Celeste’s album Not Your Muse and Arlo’s Collapsed in Sunbeams are among the nominees, with Wolf Alice’s Blue Weekend also shortlisted.

Berwyn was nominated for DEMOTAPE/VEGA, while Black Country, New Road were nominated or the First Time for Floating Points, and Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra for Promises.

Ghetts’ Conflict of Interest, Hannah Peel’s Fir Wave, Laura Mvula’s Pink Noise, Mogwai’s As the Love Continues, Nubya Garcia’s SOURCE, and SAULT’s Untitled (Rise) were also nominated.
