Axed Love Island star Sharon Gaffka’s former career in a Didcot branch on McDonald’s has come to light following her departure from the show. 

On the show, the civil servant bragged: ‘Of course I stand out in Didcot, look at me’ as well as speaking about her penchant for dating bankers – statements that have been referenced by an acquaintance in a new Facebook post. 

The social media user shared an selfie taken by Sharon in the kitchen, while she sported a McDonald’s green polo shirt and a name badge. 

The user penned: ‘Sharon from Love Island saying she’s only ever dated bankers or doctors. Don’t forget your roots. And the comment ‘I stand out in Didcot, I mean look at me’. Oh please! Look at all the work you’ve done to ‘stand out’.

When the show kicked off last month, Sharon’s comments about her home town set tongues wagging after she made her statement about ‘standing out’. 

Twitter users penned: ‘Sharon, you don’t stand out in Didcot love. There are many different people who stand at more… Sharon: “mr confident backs himself far too much”. Sharon the day before “I stand out in didcot, look at me”…

In the wake of this, her McDonald’s image resurfaced with a local urging her ‘not to forget her roots’.  

On Sunday, Sharon broke down in tears as she became the latest contestant to be dumped from the Love Island villa. She predicted she would be going home after newcomer Danny chose to couple up with Lucinda.

After he chose the blonde, Sharon turned to her close pal Faye and said: ‘I’m definitely going home now’.

With all the other islanders coupled up, Sharon teared up as she said her goodbyes to her fellow islanders.

Sharon was previously in a couple with Hugo who was the first one to give her a farewell hug, saying: ‘I’m so sorry’.

‘Don’t be stupid,’ Sharon said as the rest of the group came to hug her.

Sharon teared up as she said her goodbyes to Faye and Kaz, saying: ‘Don’t set me off, don’t set me off. I love you guys so much OK?’ 

Speaking in the beach hut, Faye said: ‘I’m going to miss everything about Sharon, she was my backbone, she was the one I went to for everything.’

Kaz added: ‘I just can’t believe Shaz and Kaz have been separated. I’m heartbroken because she was genuinely looking to meet someone new.’

Speaking after the dumping, Sharon insisted she wasn’t going to give up on her search for love.

She said: ‘We all took a plunge when we came here. Love was never guaranteed and it never will be but I’m glad I took the plunge.

‘I’m still on the look for love and the hunt for that Mr someone special who can handle my fire and make me a happy woman.’
