Lewis Hamilton turns heads in psychedelic jumper and quirky trousers as he walks Silverstone Circuit with beloved bulldog Roscoe ahead of British Grand Prix

He’s known for his quirky fashion sense.

And Lewis Hamilton made sure to turn heads on Thursday when he walked the Silverstone Circuit in Towcester with his beloved bulldog Roscoe ahead of July 18’s British Grand Prix.

Donning a psychedelic purple and pink jumper stamped with a smiling flower, Lewis, 36, teamed the statement-making piece with equally bold purple and blue patterned trousers.

Lewis rocked a braided hairstyle and kept the sunshine at bay behind a pair of trendy sunglasses.

The racing car driver opted for comfort in a pair of high top trainers bearing chunky black-and-white laces and appeared focused while his pet dog trotted along behind him.

Lewis covered his nose and mouth with a blue face mask in keeping with pandemic protocol.

He was also sporting layers of beaded necklaces alongside chunky silver rings, and Lewis’ impressive collection of hand tattoos could be seen peeking out from beneath his jumper sleeves.

Earlier in July, Lewis signed a two-year deal worth £80million to drive for Mercedes until at least the end of 2023.

The driver said of the new contract: ‘Mercedes are my family.

‘I have been with them since I was 13 (when they first backed him), so it is really easy to continue.

‘I enjoy working with everyone and there is lots we can do together on and off the track and in the paddock.’

It comes after Lewis revealed he felt ‘powerful and sad’ whilst trying to combat racism during last year’s Formula One Championship season.

The F1 champ has led the sport’s battle against racial injustice over the past 12 months and wore T-shirts supporting the Black Lives Matter movement and raised a fist for Black Power after winning last year’s Styrian Grand Prix.

He accused other Formula One drivers who refused to take the knee before Grand Prix races last season of being ‘complicit’ with racism for not taking a stand against the issue and admitted he got emotional when trying tackling the issues.

He told The Guardian: ‘This wrath of emotions came up and I couldn’t contain myself. I was in tears. And this stuff came up that I’d suppressed over all these years. And it was so powerful and sad and also releasing.

‘And I thought, ”I can’t stay quiet. I need to speak out because there are people experiencing what I’m experiencing, or 10 times worse. Or 100 times worse. And they need me right now.”

‘And so when I did speak out, that was me letting the Black community know: ”I hear you and I stand with you.”’
