‘I now know how I should be treated’: Beauty and the Geek’s Lachlan Mansell breaks down in tears after Josie Werner thanks him for their date

Beauty and the Geek’s Lachlan Mansell sensationally broke down in tears while slow dancing with Josie Werner during the show’s prom.

The 32-year-old struggled to control his feelings on Tuesday night as the couple danced following a brilliant go-karting date.

Bubbly Josie was full of appreciation for how much effort Lachlan put in, with her gushing over his efforts.

Touching: Beauty and the Geek’s Lachlan Mansell, 32, broke down in tears after Josie Werner thanked him for their date during the show’s ‘prom’ on Tuesday night

‘I’ve tried to be nice and I’ve put a lot of effort in and they haven’t shown the appreciation,’ Lachlan said, as tears rolled down his face.

Josie was clearly upset as Lachlan explained how he had been used by girls in the past who treated him with no respect.

‘It just makes me really upset to hear how a lot of girls have taken advantage of how kind he is,’ Josie said of her suitor.

‘He’s so special. He has so much to offer.’

Moving: 'I've tried to be nice and I've put a lot of effort in and they haven't shown the appreciation,' Lachlan said, as tears rolled down his face.

Lachlan said the experience has made him realise how important it is for him to lift his standards when meeting women.

‘Some of the things that Josie said to me, it’s been too long since I’d heard that. I’ve probably settled for behaviour that I shouldn’t have tolerated in the past,’ he said.

‘You know, whether it’s on this show or it’s beyond this show the takeaway is that I now know how I should be treated by girls, how I should be respected.’

‘It’s not worth settling for girls who are not going to treat me the way that I deserve,’ he finished.

Earlier in the episode, motorsports mad Lachlan planned a date for the pair to go go-karting together before letting the bubbly blonde win.

‘I don’t think anyone has put in that much effort or time [for a date in a long time],’ Josie said.

Lachlan said he was good at getting first dates, but not good at second dates.

‘I haven’t worked out what makes girls don’t like me more than a friend.’

‘I always try to be kind to people. It has definitely affected my confidence,’ he said.
