A teenage boy has had his foot crushed by a boulder while visiting one of Sydney’s most popular lookout spots.

The boy had to be airlifted to hospital after the rock crushed two of his toes north of the Barrenjoey Lighthouse in Palm Beach on Thursday afternoon.

NSW Ambulance told Daily Mail Australia the boy and a friend had been in a difficult area to access and had to be winched to safety by a rescue helicopter.

The injured boy has been taken to the Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.

The lighthouse is a popular tourism spot with hundreds of visitors flocking to the site everyday.
