TikTok outage as thousands of users are left unable to use the videoing sharing app

Thousands of TikTok users across the globe have been left unable to use the video sharing app as it experiences widespread outages.

The majority of complaints about the app’s usability were just before 6am, according to services outage tracking website Downdetector.

Issues were still being reported as of 8.50am.

Most of the users impacted live in the United States, with New York and California the worst hit regions, the website said.

ByteDance, TikTok’s’ Chinese owned parent company, is yet to comment on the disturbances.

Disappointed users flocked to social media to complain they could not access the app.

‘Me going through the five stages of grief every time I checkTikTokk again,’ one woman wrote on Twitter.

‘Everyone coming to terms with their TikTok addiction now that it’s not working,’ another said.

The social networking service is available in 154 countries, with more than one billion users worldwide.

More to come.
