The unnamed Sydney nurse won $107million in January 2019 – and she still hasn’t told even some of her closest friends.

‘There’s only a handful of people who know the full truth,’ she told an official from The Lott.

‘Honestly, everyone I told broke down in tears, happy tears.

‘I don’t think one person didn’t have a little cry. They were all genuinely so happy and excited for me.’

Despite the incredible win, she decided to stay on as a nurse.

‘Nursing is something that is in my DNA,’ she said.

‘I can’t not do it.’

Initially so overwhelmed by the news, she took some time to build up the courage to tell people.

‘The people I have told were all so thrilled to be let in on the secret and to be one of the people who helped guide me in the right direction,’ she explained.

‘I have a small group of very loyal friends, and you just don’t know how people will react, but I haven’t had any negative responses.

‘No one has told me that I’ve changed or anything like that. And I haven’t changed, it doesn’t matter how much money I have, people need me to be me and that’s really important.’
