Sydney fog: Ferries cancelled and dangerous driving conditions

Ferries cancelled and drivers warned of dangerous road conditions as Sydney is blanketed in a thick layer of fog

  • Ferries have been called and drivers being advised to avoid roads Wednesday
  • Heavy overnight rainfall and freezing temperatures left Sydney under thick fog

Ferries have been cancelled and drivers are being advised to avoid driving to work as a thick layer of fog blankets Sydney on Wednesday morning.

Heavy overnight rainfall and freezing cold temperatures have seen the Harbour City fall virtually invisible – with safety officials asking people to avoid commuting until the fog subsides.

The F1 Manly ferry has been cancelled, as have all services through to the F9 from Watsons Bay.

Despite the lockdown, many Sydneysiders are still using the roads to travel for essential work, but they are being recommended to avoid doing so until safe.

The dangerous conditions extend from far western Sydney all the way to the east coast.
