Elsa Pataky reflects on being separated from husband Chris Hemsworth

Spanish actress Elsa Pataky won the heart of Australian star Chris Hemsworth eleven years ago.

And while the couple – who share three children – have been married for a decade, they’re still yearning to spend time together.

Posting to her Instagram on Thursday, Elsa, 44, shared a series of family photos taken while at Rainbow Beach in Queensland.

Reflections: On Thursday, Elsa Pataky was missing her husband Chris Hemsworth as she shared photos of a family beach trip. ‘I always love coming back to this place. We missed you daddy,’ she wrote. Pictured, Elsa and one of her twin sons

‘I always love coming back to this place. We missed you daddy. @chrishemsworth #rainbowbeach,’ she captioned the never-before-seen gallery.

Chris, 37, was notably absent, as he’s currently filming a National Geographic documentary around the country.

Instead, Elsa was joined by her daughter India Rose, nine, and twin sons, Sasha and Tristan, seven.

Also in attendance was Chris’ mum Leonie who joined her grandchildren for the day.

In the pictures, the kids are seen going for a swim, with paddleboards in hand.

Elsa also enjoyed a spot of fishing in the scenic water, before watching the sun go down with friends.

It comes after the Fast And The Furious star spoke candidly about her decision to step away from acting at the peak of her career to raise a family.

Speaking to Jones magazine last year, Elsa said she’d selflessly put her acting career on hold after having children so her husband could focus on making movies.

‘I decided to focus on them and leave my career on the side, to just do little things here and there and try to be happy with that, even though it was my passion and I loved what I did,’ the mother of three said.

However, as Chris’ career flourished, Elsa couldn’t help but feel envious.

‘It was hard in some moments, because you see the person you love doing what you’re so passionate about, you see them doing movies, and you wish you could too,’ she added.

‘But because of my family I didn’t want to shoot anywhere else and it was Chris’ moment, I just let him know that he could do what he had to do and we’ll follow.’

Meanwhile, Elsa is currently playing the lead role in Netflix’s Interceptor, which focuses on a female protagonist who must save the world from 16 nuclear missiles.

Her husband Chris is producing the movie alongside Kathy Morgan, Christopher Mapp, Robert Slaviero, and Peter D. Graves.
