Fishing equipment found floating in six-metre deep water off the coast of a popular NSW tourist beach has sparked a police search for a man feared missing.
A Police helicopter is searching the area around Narrawallee Beach Headland, north of Mollymook Beach, on Wednesday morning for signs of the man.
The equipment including a spearfishing gun, Go-pro camera and torch was found about 3pm on Tuesday sparking a public appeal to find the owner.

A passing fisherman spotted the gear floating in the water about 100km off the coast and alerted authorities.
Pictures found on the Go-pro suggest the owner is a man of Asian appearance aged between 20 to 30 and of a slim build.
No missing persons reports are understood to have been filed connected with the missing spearfisher.
He is also believed to be driving a Jeep-style car.

A public appeal has been launched to find the equipment’s owner as a Polair helicopter searched the area
