Yelling his son was in the car, Cristian was collared by the gunmen and forced to walk back to the vehicle, but managed to bargain with them so that he could remove the toddler from a car booster seat.

‘The only thing I thought was for them to take everything, and that’s what I asked them, please let me get my son out of the car, he’s a baby,’ Cristian told Telenueve Central.

Upon hearing the commotion outside his home, Cristian’s father-in-law opened the door, but was met by one of three gun-toting carjackers, who instructed him to step back inside.

Cristian rushed his son to his in-laws’ residence and watched through a window how the suspects failed to start the vehicle. They went back into their van and sped off with his cellphone.

‘I thank heaven that (my son) was asleep in the seat, and just as I got him out of the car, he remained asleep in my arms,” he said.

No arrests had been reported as of Wednesday afternoon.
