Human Nature: Mike Tierney still gets excited performing after 30 years

EXCLUSIVE: Human Nature’s Mike Tierney admits he still gets a thrill from performing after 30 years

They’re the clean-cut boyband who rose to fame in the mid ’90s.

But the members of Human Nature have revealed they still get a thrill from performing despite being in showbusiness for more than three decades.

‘We’ve always been passionate about music and entertaining people,’ Mike Tierney, 44, told Daily Mail Australia.

‘We love doing the live shows, but creating this new music has been a completely new approach for us,’ he added of returning to the studio for their new album.

Mike also admitted that while that he finds the songwriting process thrilling, the group had to work out where their sound fits in today’s pop landscape.

‘It had been 15 years since we’d written a song together,’ added Andrew Tierney, 46.

‘Mike and I did a lot of the core writing for all of Human Nature’s early original albums and this new body of work started to take shape as soon as we started writing together again, so it’s all come full circle.’

‘When Mike and I spoke about the direction we wanted these new Human Nature songs to take,’ Andrew explained.

‘We wanted it to be positive, uplifting pop with a deeper message underneath – to make people feel better about where they are and kind of lift them up.’
