‘I donned my motorcycle jacket and gloves and after following advise from Koala Rescue Qld, safely removed him from the wall and he’s now up in one of the trees in our front yard,’ John told ABC Brisbane.

The heartwarming image posted by @ireland_family_journey on Monday shows the koala reaching up the door frame with it’s claws ripping tightly into the timber.

John said he found another koala who ventured into his backyard early last year.

‘In April last year we were visited at nearly midnight by one in our back yard, much bigger than this little fella.’

The unexpected visitor pulled at the heart strings of viewers on Facebook.

‘Awww thanks for caring and putting him back in a tree safely,’ one user commented.

‘What a cute little visitor,’ another said.

‘Awesome, but very sad at the same time, the little critter should be climbing a tree not your front door,’ another added.
