Big Brother VIP is expected to begin filming later this year.

American reality star Jax Taylor, 41, of Vanderpump Rules fame now follows Big Brother Australia’s Instagram page.

Jax – an original cast member and perhaps its most controversial – was fired from the Bravo TV show in December alongside wife Brittany Cartwright.

While the couple released statements about focusing on ‘new endeavours’, Variety claimed they were fired due to the fallout from racial accusations waged by his ex-girlfriend Faith Stowers, against co-stars Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Jax regarding Big Brother VIP.

Meanwhile across the pond, a network insider claimed to Woman’s Day magazine in April that producers have their sights set on several local names, including Home And Away star Lincoln Younes and radio star Ash Pollard.

Producers are also reportedly hoping to cast Holey Moley star and former athlete Matt Shirvington, TV presenter James Tobin, comedian Josh Thomas, and former Hi-5 performer Charli Robinson.

‘It is a competition-based reality show and more about the challenges, so don’t expect to see noisy personality types who bring drama for the sake of drama,’ the industry insider said.

The publication also claimed that Network bosses are hoping to secure some A-list talent as well, with the likes of Zac Efron and his brother Dylan topping the list.

The Efron brothers are currently living in Australia, having both flown Down Under to escape America’s coronavirus disaster.

Meanwhile, another insider told Woman’s Day that local talent agents have been clambering to get their clients on Big Brother VIP since the show was announced in March.

‘Celebrity agents are falling over themselves to cast their talent,’ the source alleged.

Big Brother VIP, a reboot of popular 2002 reality show Celebrity Big Brother, was announced by Channel Seven in a press release in March.
