Dorit Kemsley embraces her inner romantic with luxury bridal collection

She’s known as the most fashionable Housewife in the 90210.

Dorit Kemsley is proving authentic to her RHOBH tagline, ‘dress like there’s no tomorrow’ with the creation of her new luxury bridal collection in partnership with Australian bridal designer Nektaria.

In an exclusive chat with DailyMailTV, Dorit dished on the design process and got candid with her feelings about Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ newest castmate, Crystal Kung Minkoff.

‘You know, when you love what you do, it’s not work,’ Dorit said about her foray into bridal.

‘It really took me about three minutes to think about it,’ the reality star said of being asked to collaborate on a line of wedding gowns. ‘I thought, “What an incredible industry to get into?” I love it.’

The Dorit Kemsley X Nektaria Bridal Collection consists of six unique bridal looks designed personally by Kemsley: The Angel, The Moment, The Actress, The Woman, The Pearl and The Princess.

‘It’s so romantic. It’s so beautiful. It’s such a great space to be able to pour your heart into,’ Dorit added.

From pearl and rhinestone encrusted show-stoppers to gowns with sophisticated and structured slits, the spectacular pieces were created with all different types of high-end brides with a high-end budgets in mind. 

The collaboration is only being featured in luxury bridal retailers and the gowns start at $6K.

‘I wanted to be able to have, like, a piece of me in the collection,’ Dorit reflected. ‘We have to stay somewhat mainstream for the traditional brides. 

‘But I do believe that the bridal world is moving into a direction where women actually want something more fashion forward.’

She and Nektaria worked together like a well-oiled machine – despite being on opposite sides of the globe. 

Dorit was able to have as much or as little control in the design process as she wanted, and naturally, the fashionista dove in head first.

‘So the time difference between Los Angeles and Australia really meant that we were working [from] about 5pm until 2 or 3 in the morning for me,’ Dorit said.

It was a labor of love and the Bravo star revealed that has an expansion of the collection on the way. 

In addition to her six bridal looks, flower girl dresses, accessories, and ready-to-wear pieces are on the horizon.

Meanwhile, Dorit was filming the new season of the Real Housewives while working with Nektaria on her new collection. 

This season Sutton Stracke was upgraded to a full-time cast member and Crystal Kung Minkoff was also added to the cast. At the onset, Crystal appeared to ruffle feathers when it came to Dorit telling a producer that she didn’t even know her.

‘Obviously, when you watch the show back and you see these little digs in the confessionals, you’re like, “Hey, wait a second,”‘ she said of Crystal’s flip comment. ‘But that’s the nature of the show too.’

‘But overall, I would say she’s really lovely,’ Dorit added of the newcomer. ‘I really enjoy her.’

For Dorit, who is now in her fifth season as a star on the show, filming this year was made more challenging due to the pandemic. 

‘It’s certainly the journey that I had with my husband and kids being in quarantine,’ she said. 

This season will focus on how Dorit balances her home life, life with the Housewives and her design collaboration with Nektaria.

‘You get to see in the season the design process, some of our Zoom meetings and then the launch, which is such a happy moment for me,’ she gushed.
