Controversial Byron Bay influencer Ruby Tuesday Matthews has made it clear she won’t be appearing on upcoming Netflix series Byron Baes. 

And on Thursday, the 26-year-old mother-of-two took another swipe at the upcoming Netflix series, saying that almost all of the cast don’t even live in the area. 

‘Half the crew aren’t even from there,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.

Ruby, who was approached to appear on the series by producers, said that she had no interest in starring on the controversial program. 

When asked if there was any possibility she would reconsider appearing on the show Ruby said: ‘No … No way.’

The streaming giant announced it had commissioned an eight-episode series about the glamorous lives of Byron Bay’s biggest Instagram stars in April.

And while Ruby, who boasts 229,000 Instagram followers could have been a fascinating addition to the cast, the brunette, has made it clear she won’t be making an appearance.

Back in April, Ruby posted a promotional image for Byron Baes on Instagram Stories, and wrote: ‘For everyone asking if I’ll be on this show, I declined the offer.’

‘Goodbye Byron, you are officially cooked. How embarrassing,’ she added.

Ruby also used the hashtag #ShireRepeat?, in reference to Channel 10’s short-lived 2012 reality show about the glamorous residents of Sydney’s Sutherland Shire. 

Byron Baes will follow the influencers in their everyday lives, but won’t criticise influencer culture.

Netflix’s director of content for Australia and New Zealand, Que Minh Luu, said giving the show the green light was a ‘no brainer’.
