‘It shouldn’t be a thing!’ MasterChef viewers are left disgusted after one contestant makes aioli with crayfish OVARIES

MasterChef left a bad taste in the mouths of some viewers during Monday’s controversial episode.

The show’s judges and contestants hit the road for a tour around Australia, with their first stop being Apollo Bay in Victoria.

Judge Jock Zonfrillo then got to work showing the contestants how to cook a crayfish using all the animal’s innards, including its ovaries.

‘So all too often, and we’ve seen it in the MasterChef kitchen already, we see only the tail being used. Not good enough,’ he said.

Fellow judge Melissa Leong then encouraged the contestants to ‘push the boundaries of what is typically done with cray’.

But many of the show’s viewers were left disgusted as some contestants chose to incorporate ovaries into such things as an aioli.

Minoli De Silva served up an entree of crayfish doughnuts with an ovary aioli, with one fan tweeting that ‘it shouldn’t be a thing’.

‘Nope. Sorry. Ovaries in food just does not do it for me. Just doesn’t,’ tweeted one unimpressed viewer.

‘Is this proof ovaries don’t belong in aioli?’ added another after Minoli failed to wow the judges with her sauce.

Wrote one person: ‘I know I shouldn’t be squeamish about the word “ovaries”. (After all, I have them.) But… ew. (Though “Ovary Aoili [sic]” would make a great punk band name…)’

Another fan questioned if they’d heard right: ‘I tuned in late did she just say ovaries?’

‘Call me boring but I just don’t want to eat ovaries, tripe, brains, guts, fish scales, organs or whatever else gross thing they come up with on this show…’ tweeted another viewer.
