A UK ticket-holder has won Friday’s £111million EuroMillions jackpot, the National Lottery has said.

The massive win catapults the lucky player above the likes of Harry Potter actress Emma Watson (£58million), Mad Max star Tom Hardy (£30million) and every member of One Direction.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, ‘What amazing news, one UK winner has scooped the incredible £111M EuroMillions jackpot in tonight’s special Super Jackpot draw.

‘This is the fourth UK jackpot win this year. Players are urged to check their tickets and give us a call if they think they are tonight’s lucky jackpot winner.

A UK ticket-holder has won Friday’s £111 million EuroMillions jackpot, the National Lottery has said

‘National Lottery players make a huge difference to National Lottery Good Causes across the country raising, on average, around £30M every week.

‘Thanks to National Lottery players, over £1bn has been distributed to date across the UK to help tackle the impact of coronavirus.’

Every EuroMillions ticket also gets an automatic entry into the UK Millionaire Maker, which guarantees at least one lucky player will win £1million in every draw.

Also this evening, UK punters have a chance to win £500,000 in tonight’s Thunderball.

Though tonight’s EuroMillions win is a huge one, it isn’t the biggest in the lottery’s history.

That honour went to a Swiss player, who scooped a whopping £180million in February this year.

In April a UK ticket holder won a £122m EuroMillions jackpot – the fifth biggest ever National Lottery win.

The second highest prize (£161million) went to Colin and Chris Weir, from North Ayrshire, Scotland, in 2011
