The court heard that Lee had sent details about what had happened before he left his told address in Twickenham, but has since moved to Spain.

Ryan has entered not guilty pleas to the four charges by post, the court heard, and alleges that another person was driving.

The matter is due to go to trial on August 19 at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court.

A representative for Ryan said they did not wish to comment.

The case comes after Ryan has confirmed he is set to become a father for the third time in February.

He  is already dad to daughter Bluebell, 13, who he shares with ex Jessica Keevil, and son Rayn, 12, whose mother is his ex-fiance, Samantha Miller.

A source told the Sun: ‘They couldn’t be happier. Pals have joked it will mean Lee will have some time to chat to someone who understands him.

‘It’s early days but they’re excited.’

Lee and Verity, whose real name is Verity Morley, were first linked back in January 2020 before enjoying a loved-up holiday together in February last year.
