A Melbourne man suffered a close call after discovering a knife inside his Subway sandwich.

Scott Racevskis, 22, recorded his immediate reaction to finding the blade inside the late-night tuna meal and uploaded the video to TikTok on Wednesday.

The Mornington resident is seen holding his sandwich in one hand and a sharp green knife in the other as his friends look on in surprise.

‘I ordered subway and it came with a knife!’ he says.

Scott Racevskis, 22, was ‘shocked but also pretty stoked’ to find a short green blade (pictured) inside his Subway sandwich last week

Mr Racevskis told Daily Mail Australia he had bought the sandwich from the Bentons Square store in Mornington after a night out with friends.

‘I was shocked, but also pretty stoked, it’s the best knife I’ve ever owned’, he said.

The video quickly went viral on TikTok, with dozens of users sharing their thoughts in the comments.

‘I used to work there, and that is 100% a Subway knife’, one user said.

Another ex-employee explained how the knife may have ended up in the roll.

‘They have magnets right above where you cut the sandwich in half and when it’s busy and the knife is dirty it falls in sometimes’, they said.

‘I work at Subway and this happens more than you’d think’, another user agreed.

Several viewers suggested the Mornington man take legal action against the chain.

‘If you cut yourself on it you could technically sue?’, one user suggested.

‘I smell free money’, another said.

Mr Racevskis said he didn’t alert the employees in the store to his bizarre discovery but has contacted the sandwich chain on Facebook.

A Subway representative asked for his details and which store the sandwich was purchased from so the manager could be informed.

‘I didn’t want to take it any further than that, I think I was the one that got the good end of the stick’, he joked.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Subway for comment.
