Matt Damon’s reputation for being one of Hollywood’s nicest stars is well known.

And on Friday, the actor took a moment to meet and greet fans waiting to see him as he stepped out for dinner in Sydney.

The 50-year-old was seen getting out of a luxury car and making his way into high end restaurant Mr. Wong, owned by Merivale CEO and heir Justin Hemmes.

He opted for a low-key and relaxed look in a black sweatshirt with jeans, sneakers and a trucker cap from wilderness brand Yeti.

The Academy Award winner was met with fans outside of the venue and graciously took time to talk to them and sign various items.

Among the items he signed were DVDs of his films Ford v Ferrari, The Martian and Invictus.

Afterwards, Matt was seen enjoying dinner and a glass of wine with friends inside the Chinese restaurant.

This comes after another Sydney eatery recently enjoyed the company of the Good Will Hunting star.

On Saturday, Jimmy’s Falafel – another Merivale establishment – welcomed Matt to their George Street venue.

Head Chef Simon Zalloua took to Instagram to share a photo of himself and his team with the actor.

He wrote in the caption: ‘Matt Damon – “can’t wait to try your falafel, I’ve heard they’re world famous”. 

Matt and his wife Luciana relocated to Australia in January along with their daughters, Isabella, 14, Gia, 12, and Stella, 10.

He is in Australia filming Thor: Love and Thunder, which has been in production in Sydney since January.

‘I’m so excited that my family and I will be able to call Australia home for the next few months,’ he said in a statement shortly after his arrival.

‘Australian film crews are world-renowned for their professionalism and are a joy to work with, so the 14 days of quarantine will be well worth it.

‘Australia definitely is the lucky country, and I can’t wait to show my family Australia’s down to earth people, breathtaking scenery and diverse culture.’

Even Prime Minister Scott Morrison branded Matt’s arrival Down Under a ‘big win’ for the country.

Matt and his family are believed to be staying at a European-style home in Knockrow, just outside of Byron Bay.

The eight-bedroom home costs $7,000 a night on Airbnb.

It also boasts a swimming pool, manicured gardens, tennis court and stunning ocean views.
