A woman has made the astonishing discovery of a fox inside her washing machine at her home in London.

Natasha Prayag had left the front door open to go to the car and the cheeky bushy-tailed intruder sneaked in to her house in Streatham on Monday night.

Prayag then walked into the kitchen to find the fox sitting in the washing machine starting at her.

She posted a picture of the fox on Twitter and said: ‘Honestly, guys. I’ve got a fox stuck in my washing machine. What the actual fox.’

Prayag added: ‘There’s a fox in my washing machine. I left the front door open to go to the car quickly and he let himself in.’

She managed to cajole the animal out of the machine and then out of the back door.

But the bold fox immediately ran round to the front of the house where the door was still open and came back in for a second time.

A spokesperson from the RSPCA told MailOnline: ‘This would definitely be a surprise for anyone to find!

‘If anyone finds a wild animal in their home, we recommend keeping a safe distance and to call us or a local wildlife centre for advice.

‘Please don’t try to remove a wild animal yourself as they can get easily frightened, we recommend leaving it to experts like our team of frontline animal rescuers who are able to safely remove wild animals from situations like this.’

The extraordinary find comes after two foxes were found enjoying a nighttime bounce on a garden trampoline – just like in the 2016 John Lewis Christmas advert.

The footage was filmed in a back garden in Stratford, east London, on a security camera, which started recording after the foxes entered its field of view.

Unlike the Christmas advert, the foxes in east London were not joined by a squirrel, badger or a hedgehog.

However, they seemed to enjoy the trampoline, with the braver of the two animals getting in a couple of bounces before being joined by the second.
