Martha Kalifatidis is one of Australia’s most recognisable influencers, after launching a career off the back of her Married At First Sight fame.

But the 32-year-old revealed to Who on Thursday that she had to work hard to change the opinions of her co-stars in the upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice.

‘They (co-stars) said to me after filming, “I literally said to production if there are any MAFS or reality TV people on this show I don’t want to be involved,”‘ she said.

Martha’s comments suggested their was enough backlash to her casting that co-stars threatened to quit.

When asked if the other celebrities ‘underestimated’ her because she was an influencer, she said: ‘Absolutely. When I walked in a lot of people rolled their eyes.’  

‘I had to work really hard to change that – I’m not complaining about it, it’s always like that for me and I’m happy to do that.’ 

Martha rose to fame on season six of Married At First Sight, where she married Michael Brunelli.

The former makeup artist’s Instagram following grew exponentially after the show and she currently boasts a fan base of more than 600,000.

Last June she told Daily Mail Australia that ‘never in her wildest dreams’ did she believe creating sponsored posts at home would become her full-time job and was surprised at how financially viable it is.

Although she did not reveal the exact figure she charges for branded content, it’s estimated she makes up to $3,000 for a single sponsored selfie.

Martha will join the likes of Michelle Bridges, Olympic gymnast Olivia Vivian and comedian Ross Noble on the show.

British billionaire Lord Alan Sugar will reprise his role as the fearsome CEO from the UK series as he puts the celebrity contestants to the test with business-related tasks.

The celebrities will compete for a grand prize of $100,000 for their chosen charity in addition to the money raised on the show.

Celebrity Apprentice Australia will air on Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine
