Brittany Cartwright says she’s ‘feeling good’ as she flaunts her five-weeks post-partum figure

Britney Cartwright said she’s ‘feeling good’ as she showed off her post-baby body five weeks after welcoming son Cruz.

The Vanderpump Rules personality, 32, smiled while revealing her figure on her Instagram Story, where she told fans she’s ‘got a long way to go’ but is finally feeling more like herself.

After flaunting her fit and healthy figure, the Kentucky native had a frank discussion about recovering from giving birth, telling followers she was surprised by how long it’s taken to heal.

Brittany looked healthy and happy while clad in a low-cut black sports bra and matching leggings. Pasties to help her soothe her nursing nipples peeked out from her top.

She turned to the side and ran her hand over her tummy to flaunt her progress in the mirror.

‘Got a long ways to go, can’t wait until I can workout at six weeks,’ the Bravo alum went on, adding: ‘Starting to feel like myself again, not so sore and just loving my baby.’

Brittany, whose husband is fellow VPR persona Jax Taylor, opened up about the post-partum healing process in another video where she spoke directly at the camera while feeding her baby boy.

Cruz’s cuteness was enough to distract mom, who told fans how he was ‘smiling’ and ‘tootin” before talking recovery.

Diving right into the topic, the former SUR employee ‘I think some of the craziest things about post partum for me has been… just how long you bleed and how long you’re sore for.’

She wasn’t shy about body talk, telling viewers: ‘Sorry if this is TMI for some of you but, I know there are a lot of new moms out there or there’s a lot of pregnant moms who follow me and it’s just been a learning experience.’

‘It’s the happiest time of your life but nobody talks about what your body goes through,’ Brittany went on, hoping to help fans by being open about her physical changes.

‘It is very hard on your body and I didn’t realize how sore I was gonna be or how long I was gonna be in those ugly diapers and pads,’ Cartwright said with a laugh.

Then she offered a word of encouragement, telling followers: ‘Even though its all worth it, you really have to just push through those moments.

‘I’m finally a little over five weeks post partum and I’m starting to feel good. My soreness has gone down a lot.

‘So hang in there new mommas! You got this, you know nobody talks about these things but you’re definitely gonna go through them. But it’s all worth it because these cuddles are the best thing ever.’

Brittany’s message comes after the star admitted she ‘cried a lot’ during her pregnancy after experiencing brutal body shaming from trolls.

Cartwright said it has been ‘hard’ to feel comfortable in her postpartum body, while being compared to the other new moms on Vanderpump Rules.

‘I have friends like Lala [Kent], who literally looks like she doesn’t have a baby two days later. I mean, she is a freaking queen,’ the 32-year-old reality star explained to Us Weekly earlier this month.

The Vanderpump Rules cast – past and present – experienced quite the baby boom last year, with Cartwright, Kent, Scheana Say, and Stassie Schroeder all falling pregnant.

Since their pregnancy announcements, all four women have given birth, with Brittany welcoming her son Cruz with husband Jax Taylor on April 12.

Cartwright believes that, unlike her costars, it’s ‘going to be a long journey’ for her to return to her pre-pregnancy physique.

‘I don’t even know how, but my body is completely different. It’s going to be a long journey for me to get back to my weight.’

Speaking to Us Weekly, Cartwright admitted that throughout her pregnancy she ‘got so many mean comments about what [her] weight gain was’ from her social media following.

‘I was being heavily compared to Stassi [Schroeder] and Scheana [Shay] and Lala. … I’ve always been bigger than them, but my weight has always fluctuated and stuff,’ she explained.

‘So it was just hard to see all those comments about my weight stuff when I was healthy and the baby was healthy.’

The pressure from social media often proved too intense for the reality star, with Brittany admitting that she ‘cried a lot’ over the bodyshaming comments.

‘You’re already so emotional. And then, like, I was in [coronavirus] quarantine, I was home, so I was looking at my phone more than I should have.

‘There were times when it made me ashamed of how I looked, and I shouldn’t have felt like that,’ she said.

This is not the first time Brittany has spoken candidly about being ruthlessly judged online for how her body has evolved since announcing she was pregnant last year.

Back in November, the new mom took to Instagram to fireback at commenters remarking on the size of her baby bump at that time.

‘Some of y’all are just sad and I wish you happiness someday. I’m going to enjoy my pregnancy no matter what the trolls say,’ wrote Brittany in the caption of a mirror selfie.

She even went as far as to inform her following of the ‘differences in bumps at 16 weeks’ and that ‘some women don’t really show at 16 weeks pregnant, while others have pronounced bumps.

She continued: ‘The wide variety of baby bumps can be attributed to everything from a woman’s size and shape to whether this is her first pregnancy or her second, third or fourth.

‘Whatever you do, don’t compare your 16 weeks pregnant belly to anyone else’s.’
