He is one of the most controversial Big Brother housemates, and was labelled a ‘villain’ after butting heads with several other contestants.

But if you expect Daniel Hayes to be whingeing about his ‘bad edit’, think again.

The Geelong-based real estate agent, 43, told Daily Mail Australia : ‘I think that’s who I am. They’ve shown me in a pretty bad light, but I accept the camera’s don’t lie.’

‘There’s good and bad about me,’ he added. ‘I’m a human being and you get to see the guy who gets to shoot without the hip.’

Describing his time in the Big Brother house, Daniel continued: ‘I try and be funny. I try and lift the house up and I was prepared to go home at any day.

‘I was there to play a big game.’

‘I came out swinging the baseball bat from day one and I kept swinging it all the way through,’ he said of his game plan.

‘I wasn’t there to make friends. I’ve got enough of those and they’re high-maintenance as it is.’

It comes after Daniel defended his decision to put rival Katie Williams up for nomination last week, which ultimately sent her home.

‘The reason me and Katie didn’t get along is because I’m all about being fair,’ he said.

‘Katie and Jess [Trend] would whisper who to vote. As soon as someone had won a challenge they would grab them and tell them who not to vote for.’

Daniel said he and the other housemates were sick of hearing it, and just wanted her out of the competition.
