Bachelor star-turned-tennis WAG Brittany Hockley reveals her very unusual middle name

Former Bachelor star Brittany Hockley has shared many aspects of her personal life on her popular podcast, Life Uncut.

And on Tuesday, the 32-year-old revealed her rather bizarre middle name.

During a discussion about family traditions for naming children, Brittany’s co-host Laura Byrne announced her middle name was Mayo.

Brittany then explained: ‘My middle name is a family name, one child in every generation has to have it and it’s Mayo, as in the condiment.’

‘Yes, my middle name is Mayo. It’s grown on me and, I’ll be honest, I didn’t know how I felt in the early days,’ she laughed.

‘Now I have to call one of my children Mayo, which I have notified Jordan [Thompson, her boyfriend] of and he’s going to roll with it, but he’s not overly impressed,’ she added.

The name Mayo is a derivative of the English and Irish name Mayhew, or the French Mailhot, according to Ancestry.com.au.

It comes after Brittany revealed she will be joining her tennis star boyfriend Jordan Thompson on tour overseas.

She announced on Instagram last week she’s going to be helping him out on the road with ‘tournament logistics’.

Brittany is currently in Sydney and has been in a long-distance relationship with Jordan in recent weeks while he’s in Europe on tour, due to being unable to travel because of the coronavirus pandemic.

But she will justify her overseas travel by assisting with tournament logistics and will also be recording her podcast overseas, she said.

‘I’m going away for a few months to see Jordan… I’m going to Wimbledon first, then possibly Mexico and then America,’ Brittany wrote on Instagram.

‘He needed someone to help him out with tournament logistics, so I put my hand up,’ she said.

Brittany assured fans she’ll still record Life Uncut with Laura while she’s overseas.

‘I am very, very lucky that Laura and I can record a podcast wherever in the world,’ she said.

Brittany has complained in the past about the difficulty of being in a long-distance relationship with her sports star beau, so joining him abroad will be a blessing.

Still going! Brittany also assured fans that while she will be overseas, her commitment to her podcast Life Uncut - which she co-hosts with Laura Byrne - will continue as they can record it anywhere in the world
