Australian Survivor 2021: Channel 10’s shock new twist changes the game for good

Channel 10 reveals a shock new twist for Australian Survivor that will change the game for good… as the new season commences filming in the North Queensland outback

The upcoming season of Australian Survivor is currently being filmed in the vast outback of North West Queensland.

And on Wednesday, Channel 10 announced that the 2021 series will feature a twist that will change the game for good: ‘Brains V Brawn’.

Castaways will come from all walks of life, with brainy care strategists who are outstanding in their field and buff athletes hoping to barrel through the challenges.

More than meets the eye! Channel 10 has announced a shock new twist for the upcoming season of Australian Survivor. A ‘Brains V Brawn’ stipulation will see nerdy strategists going head-to-head with buff athletes

But the buff ‘Brawn’ contenders will need more than just physical strength to get them through the game.

‘With a laser like mental focus, this year’s cast will do what it takes to get their way,’ Channel Ten said in an announcement.

‘The smiling assassins who like to win, know keeping friends close and enemies closer is the only way to be the last one standing.’

Jonathan LaPaglia will return as host for the upcoming season.

Filming commenced near the small town of Cloncurry in Queensland earlier this month.

It was announced back in February that this season will be filmed locally after Ten secured government funding to shoot closer to home due to the global pandemic.

The Location Incentive Program grant provided $3.9million for the reality show and is expected to inject a boost into the local economy.

In an odd twist, Australian Survivor’s production company Endemol Shine Australia refused to comment on whether the show would return to Queensland in 2022.
