Bonnie Anderson reveals the REAL reason she quit Neighbours – as she admits she has ‘so much more in the pipeline’

It’s been three and a half years since singer Bonnie Anderson made her acting debut as Bea Nilsson on Neighbours.

And in an interview with TV Week on Monday, the 26-year-old revealed the real reason she decided to quit the long-running soap.

‘I felt it was my time. After all these years, I’d learnt so much and reached a point that I could take everything on board and to continue soaring elsewhere,’ she said.

‘Neighbours was an incredible training ground, and I’ll forever be grateful for all the lessons I learnt there,’ she continued.

Bonnie said her first move post-Neighbours will be ‘keeping herself extremely busy’.

‘More music, more acting… so much is in the pipeline. I have so many ideas – and always love a challenge,’ she said.

Bonnie said she would ‘absolutely’ consider returning to Neighbours in the future, should the right opportunity arise.

‘It would be special to return and be reunited with everybody on-screen and off,’ she said.

Her final episode is due to air in Australia in the next few weeks, but won’t be broadcast in Britain for several months.

Bonnie joined the soap in 2018, playing the half-sister of Jodi Gordon’s character Elly Conway.

She rose to fame as the winner of Australia’s Got Talent in 2007, then spent a few years away from the music scene before re-emerging in 2014, at the age of 19.

‘Getting thrown into the limelight at such a young age can be difficult, so for me it was important to just take my time,’ she previously told Daily Mail Australia.
