Sunrise’s roving weatherman Sam Mac reveals his number one piece of travel advice… after admitting he takes over 100 flights each year
He’s clocked up the frequent flyer points with his role on Sunrise, and now Sam Mac is revealing his travel advice.
In a recent interview with The Courier Mail’s My Travel CV, the 38-year-old TV weatherman advised travellers to immerse themselves in the local culture.
‘The advice I would give young travellers is to be open-minded. Talk to the local people, even if you’re a shy person,’ he explained.

‘You’ve actually got to chat with the locals because they know the hidden gems.’
He jokingly added: ‘You should come and see my TED talk on this topic. It goes for seven hours.’
Sam also revealed he completes over 100 flights a year with his role as Sunrise’s roving weatherman.

Describing it as a ‘magical place’, Sam said we’re ‘lucky’ to have the sacred site in our own backyard.

‘The key to authentic international travel is to not look like a tourist,’ he jokingly captioned the post.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Sam will embark on fewer trips after going public with his relationship with stylist Rebecca James recently.
The popular TV star announced his relationship with Rebecca on Instagram on March 27, and said they’d been introduced by a mutual friend.
