As seen on TV: 2015 ‘Blocktagon’ challenge apartment hits market for $1.695 million

As seen on TV: Three-bedroom South Yarra ‘Blocktagon’ challenge apartment is up for sale… and it looks exactly as it did on The Block in 2015

Five teams on The Block’s eleventh season in 2015 contributed to the renovation and design of an additional ‘challenge apartment’ at 1/1A Affleck Street in South Yarra.

And six years after being auctioned off, the three-bedroom pad is back on the market with hopes of selling for $1.695million, reports Realestate.com.au.

The octagonal apartment, part of the building that was once the seedy ‘Hotel Saville’, has not been altered by its sellers since it was featured on The Block.

After its facelift on the Nine renovation show, the apartment sold for $1.67million in November 2015 and hasn’t been renovated since.

The home has three full-sized bedrooms with ensuites, a study, powder room and home cinema.

There’s also a modern kitchen, which boasts premium appliances, a butler’s pantry and an adjacent dining room.

The apartment complex includes lift access, a communal rooftop terrace and a gym.

Marshall White Stonnington agent Nicholas Brooks said on Wednesday: ‘The size is by far the most compelling aspect of the apartment, given the location.

‘It’s over 240 square metres internally. To find an apartment that size in South Yarra you’re usually looking around the $4million mark.’

Mr Brooks explained the unconventional octagonal floorplan placed the pad at a lower price point to other apartments its size on the market.
