Making furry friends! Tessa Thompson takes a break from filming Thor: Love and Thunder in Australia to have a cute encounter with a kangaroo

She has been filming the Marvel sequel Thor: Love and Thunder in Australia for the past few months. 

And Tessa Thompson took some time off work on Sunday to make some furry friends.

Posting to Instagram, the 37-year-old actress shared a video of the sweet moment she met a kangaroo.

In the video, Tessa smiles as she pets the Australian native animal.

She simply captioned the clip with a teary-eyed emoji. 

During her visit to the zoo, Tessa showed off her Hollywood style in 1950s-style sunglasses and a trench coat. 

It comes two months after the animal-lover went horse riding in Sydney’s Centennial Park.

The American actress flew into Sydney in January to join co-stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Mark Ruffalo to film the latest Thor movie.

Thor: Love and Thunder will see Tessa’s character Valkyrie return to the Marvel Universe for the latest installment of the superhero series.

Valkyrie was previously revealed to be one of the first LGBTQ characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The franchise has previously been criticised for merely paying lip service by making its LGBTQ characters supporting or background players and diminishing their queerness.

Production of Thor: Love and Thunder is expected to create 2,500 jobs in NSW.
