Bryce Ruthven admits he used MAFS for career opportunities

Married At First Sight’s Bryce Ruthven finally admits that he used the show to advance his media career – as his new podcast tops the Spotify charts

Bryce Ruthven’s motives for going on Married At First Sight were repeatedly questioned during his time on the show.

And now the former radio host has admitted that he used the show for career opportunities, just one week after launching a hit podcast with his girlfriend and former co-star Melissa Rawson.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, the 31-year-old said: ‘Obviously when you go on a show like MAFS you are not oblivious to the fact that you are going to get a profile of some kind.’

He added: ‘I knew that the show could be an opportunity to give me something else that other radio announcers might not have.

‘That was definitely a part of it, but everyone has their motives for going on the show. And anyone who says they don’t is kidding themselves.’

Things have certainly turned out well for the reality TV bad boy, who walked away from MAFS with a partner and a chart-topping podcast.

The Podshape show, titled What Happens After, topped Spotify’s Society & Culture chart and reached the top ten on the overall Top Podcasts charts in Australia and New Zealand.

‘The response has been unbelievable, we can’t believe how much interest and hype there is around our podcast,’ Bryce told Daily Mail Australia earlier this week.

‘There has been much talk from media outlets about whether there will be any interest in the podcast,’ Bryce continued.

‘I guess we have to thank them all for helping spread the word about it.’

Bryce went on to say that he and Melissa can’t wait to bring more episodes out that showcase what their relationship is really like in the real world.

‘I’ve got a bit of a voice back. The podcast is a really good insight into who we are as a couple.’
