Hit Network’s Gawndy campaigns to join Big Brother VIP… after revealing his aunt was a contestant on the show’s very first season

He’s a self-confessed Big Brother Australia superfan.

And Hit Network host Daniel Gawned, a.k.a. Gawndy, has put his hand up to join the upcoming celebrity version of the long-running series.

The DJ also revealed he has reality TV pedigree, with his aunty Jemma Gawned having been a contestant on the show’s debut season back in 2001.

 Last week, Gawndy declared his interest in featuring in the show’s upcoming season during the Gawndy & Maz show.

‘My mate said to me, “Why don’t you throw your hat in the ring for Big Brother VIP”‘ he revealed.

‘I love Big Brother,’ he admitted before declaring, ‘I’m going to go for it.’

‘You only live once. I’m going to give it a solid crack.’

Danger zone: The radio personality then revealed that his biggest concern about entering the Big Brother house was that his snoring is so loud it would bother the housemates

His co-host Maz Compton implored their listeners to help ‘Get Gawndy on the couch.’

The superfan also revealed he owns the couch from the 2013 series of the show. 

Back in 2001, Daniel’s aunty Jemma, then 26, made it to the final five housemates before being evicted on her 70th day in the house.
