Stockpiling Australian mum shares her fully stocked cleaning cupboard

A super-organised mum has shown off her well-stocked cupboard filled with cleaning products that looks similar to a mini supermarket.

The Australian shopper shared a picture of her stockpile showing bottles of dishwashing detergents, cleaning sprays, disinfectant wipes, hand wash, and garbage bags arranged perfectly on the shelves under her kitchen sink.

‘I finally got to sort this cupboard. So much of it is extra stuff that I have grabbed when half price,’ she explained in a Facebook group.

And the mum was not the only one with a neatly organised cupboard filled with bulk cleaning items after purchasing them on sale.

Dozens of parents shared snaps of their own stockpiles around their homes, with many revealing they never run out of items because they are always buying extra products every time they go on sale.

‘I love my “shop” cupboard. I begrudge paying full price for necessities and always try to time purchases around specials. If the savings are good and the budget allows, I will bulk buy and stock rotate,’ one woman wrote.

Another added: ‘I purchase deodorants, toilet papers, paper towels, dishwasher liquids, soaps, moisturisers and all sorts of items when they are half price. I never pay full price.’

One shopper said she always keeps up to five of each product she uses.

‘I definitely stockpile cleaning and laundry products and toiletries. My husband thinks I’m crazy but you save heaps of money,’ she said.

Another woman said she uses her laundry storage and home office wardrobe for all her stockpiling items (picture of her toiletries such as shampoo, body wash and deodorant)

‘I love to buy things when it’s on special and I never run out of anything,’ she said.

One shopper said she created ‘the rona cupboard’ amid the coronavirus pandemic.

‘I stock non-perishable items in a cupboard… Stockpiling has never been so important,’ she explained.

Another mum, who has been a stockpiler for 25 years, revealed she has six months to a year’s supply of items, including toiletries such as toothpastes, toilet paper shampoo and conditioner and pantry staples like rice, pasta, flour and cooking oil.

Many revealed they keep their stockpile items in their garage.

‘I keep toilet paper rolls in green tubs with lids, clear containers for bottles plus a wine rack and other tubs of extra non-perishable items,’ one woman said.

One mum, who lived in a remote town for seven years, said she started bulk buying after she had to travel far to the closest supermarket to get all her groceries.

‘I had to live like this so now it’s just a habit. We have shelves out in the garage where our “stock” is. I also buy when items are half price so I always have extras of everything,’ she said.
