One of the longest serving staff members on Channel 10’s The Project has left the talk show after more than a decade.

Executive producer Craig Campbell has been away from the series since February dealing with rheumatoid arthritis and chronic pain, but on Friday he made his exit permanent.

In a note sent to staff, which was obtained by TV Tonight, Craig explained that he was leaving to focus on a better work/life balance for his health.

He’s out! Executive producer Craig Campbell has exited The Project after more than ten years on the series

‘Since I have been away, I have been trying to find a reasonable balance between my work and my health, something that a bunch of health professionals have pointed out I don’t have,’ he wrote.

‘As I get older (I turned 60 two weeks ago) I have been thinking how I can structure my life in a way that will enable me to still do what I love (make TV) but maintain my health (less stress).’

Craig then confirmed that Chris Bendall would take over as The Project’s executive producer moving forward.
