Bec Hewitt sets the record straight on rumours she is returning to Home and Away

She rose to fame on Home and Away playing Hayley Smith Lawson from 1998 to 2005.

And on Tuesday, Bec Hewitt, 37, set the record straight about making a comeback on the long-running soap, almost 16 years since leaving.

Kyle and Jackie O show co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson asked the actress if there was any truth to the rumour that she would be returning to the small screen in the future.

‘Is that going around? I haven’t heard it,’ she told the breakfast radio show.

‘Not at this stage,’ Bec said of reprising her iconic role as Hayley.

‘I always say I’m so grateful to that show for the years I spent on it, and if ever they needed me for something special I would be happy to do it.’

‘But I definitely couldn’t commit to a full-time role on the show the hours are just insane,’ she added.

Bec left Home and Away in May 2005, and announced she was expecting her first child with her then-boyfriend, tennis star Lleyton Hewitt.

The former actress and Wimbledon winner tied the knot July at the Sydney Opera House and welcomed their first child, daughter Mia, in November.

The couple later welcomed two more children, son Cruz, 12, and youngest daughter Ava, 10.

Bec is currently thrilling fans with her dance performances on Dancing With The Stars: All Stars alongside the likes of Ada Nicodemou, Kyly Clarke and Manu Feildel.
