Man left gobsmacked after a woman invites 16 other men to their date

A man has revealed that he was invited on a date by a woman he met on a dating app, but she bizarrely invited 16 other men without telling him.

Pea Kay, from London, shared a stream of videos on TikTok where he revealed that he was invited on a date with 16 other men – despite believing it would be a one-on-one affair.

He explained that he’d met the unnamed woman on the dating app Hinge, where things got off to a rocky start because she was unimpressed by his chat-up line, but she then invited him out for a drink.

But when he arrived for the date, Pea was left completely baffled after being told by another man who was sitting at the table that he was just the second date out of 17.

Filming himself at the date, he explained: ‘As you guys know, I am pretty bad at dating. But I actually decided to go on a date, which I haven’t done in like a year, and this is what happened. This is not a joke by the way!’

Pea filmed the hoards of other men at the date and the woman who organised the bizarre gathering, which he said she claimed was meant to be ‘speed dating’.

In the video, the woman is also heard telling all her potential suitors that she had decided to invite all the men she had matched with on Hinge to the date.

He later admitted that he didn’t leave the date straight away and claimed he went on to ‘kiss’ the woman later in the evening, but has not heard from her since the group date.

Explaining how he ended up in the strange situation, Pea claimed he had matched with the woman on Hinge a few weeks earlier, but she was unimpressed by his flirty opening line.

He had sent her a message saying: ‘Hey, congratulations on matching with Pea, this is a fantastic achievement and if you don’t get any further, don’t worry you’ve done a great job.’

But the woman was left unamused by his chat-up line, which he thought was ‘f****** funny’, and said she only matched with him by ‘mistake’.

She later asked for his WhatsApp number and he claimed she sent him screenshots from a group chat with her friends, who were analysing his chat-up line.

Pea said: ‘The only thing worse than your comments not being funny, is your comments being broken down and telling you why you’re not funny.’

Despite the rocky start, Pea claimed that two weeks later, she invited him out for a drink, but he asked her whether her friends planned to ‘ambush’ him at the meeting.

The woman assured him that nothing like that would happen, but Pea could not have prepared himself for turning up for a drink that was really a giant group date.

He continued: ‘I get there, I’m on the date, this is where we are in the video and it’s her, her friend and a guy on the table. Well, this is not too bad – could have been worse!’

Pea claimed the other man at the table initially claimed to be her ‘cousin’ before informing him that he was actually the first date and Pea was the ‘second’ out of 17.

Pea explained: ‘He said “I’m just the first date, and you’re the second date” and I was like “what do you mean?”.

‘Now the alarm bells are ringing, this is a bit weird, and he says “yeah you’re date number two and there’s like 10 more guys invited”.

‘Turns out way more guys were invited like that.”

After the date, which he described as the 'weirdest night' of his life, Pea admitted that he did text her the next day but she didn't reply to his message

Pea claimed that the woman said she was trying to organise speed dating, but said that nobody was leaving and ‘guys just keep on coming, like over and over again’.

Despite the bizarre date format, Pea said he was actually getting on with her well and they were flirting – but claimed that another man on the date then kissed her.

Pea said he decided to also kiss her to ensure he still had a chance with her, before admitting in another video that he ‘would have left’ if he had ‘any self-respect’.

He added: ‘If I had any self-respect whatsoever, I would have left at that first moment that I knew basically f***ed-up dating situation.

‘But being locked-up for a year, I kind of embraced the whole situation.’

After the date, which he described as the ‘weirdest night’ of his life, Pea admitted that he did text her the next day but claimed she didn’t reply to his message.

He continued: ‘Even the next day, like I was texting her like what the f*** is wrong with me? Who the does that, what is wrong with me? And then yeah she didn’t reply.’
