Lucifer actor Tom Ellis and his screenwriter wife Meaghan Oppenheimer reportedly called police as a mysterious package was sent to their home in Los Angeles.

The screen star, 42, was left shocked when his spouse, 35, received a random box filled with glitter, according to a report.

The couple, who tied the knot in June 2019, are said to have filed a report to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) after finding the delivery ‘creepy’.

A source has told TMZ that claimed the cops’ Threat Management division is currently investigating the case and ‘have a lead on a suspect’.

MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Tom and Meaghan for further comment. 

Tom wed TV and film executive Meaghan in a romantic woodland ceremony in Santa Ynes after a four-year romance.

The Miranda star co-parents Nora, 15, with his ex-girlfriend Estelle Morgan, as well as Florence, 12, and Marnie, eight, with his former wife, EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite.

The Welsh thespian has been keeping busy in recent months as he recently wrapped up filming for Lucifer.

It was revealed last year that the sixth series would be the programme’s last after it was renewed by Netflix for a fourth season following its axe on Fox.

The father-of-three bid farewell to the urban fantasy show on social media by sharing a picture of a personalised lighter which had the dates March 17, 2015, and March 29, 2021.

Lucifer’s lead penned: ‘Today is the day. 6 years ago I started a journey with the most amazing group of people and today we say a fond farewell to each other. 

‘Thank you to every single crew member who has helped bring the story of #Lucifer to life. What a ride ❤️❤️. Ps Thanks for the beautiful gift @moppyoppenheimer.’
