In responding to congratulatory tweets, Osbourne added he had ‘no idea how he pulled it off’, describing it as ‘the bet of the century’ and joking he hopes to ‘get a little drink out of it!’

Osbourne, a 22-year-old semi-pro footballer who used to play in Wolves’ youth-team setup, also replied to on loan Sunderland defender Dion Sanderson, saying ‘Bro it was a madness!’

Included in his dad’s accumulator was wins for the likes of Manchester United against Tottenham, Arsenal at Sheffield United and Rangers versus Hibernian in English and Scottish top-flight games.

However, he also placed bets on matches in leagues in Denmark, Sweden, Croatia and Argentina.

In fact, his most nervy game was in the Cypriot First Division – just the second match out of 20 – with AEL Limassol scoring an 84th minute winner against AEK Larnaca, a bet which had odds of 10/11.

Another tight encounter was Atalanta’s 3-2 victory at Fiorentina in Serie A, with the scores level at 2-2 with 20 minutes to go, but Josip Ilicic’s penalty gave the visitors a victory.

His final game, the win for Espanyol, was also far from simple, with Nico Melamed scoring the winner in the 73rd minute at the RCDE Stadium.

The win comes after a couple of punters had monumental triumphs during the Cheltenham Festival too, with one winning £112,854 from a £2 bet and another claiming £250,000 from a £5 accumulator.
