In 2019, Mitch rose to fame after he performed an indigenous rendition of John Farnham’s iconic track ‘You’re The Voice’ on Australia’s Got Talent and won over the judges with his performance.

At the time, guest judge Natalie Bassingthwaighte gave him her golden buzzer.

As she geared up to bestow the honour on him, she said: ‘I’m telling you right now, you are the new voice of our generation and because of that, I’m sorry, but I have no choice but to…’

At that, Natalie slammed down on her buzzer, which allowed Mitch to make the Australia’s Got Talent final.

Fellow Nicole Scherzinger was just as excited as Natalie, as she told the star: ‘Mitch! I respect you so much for preserving your culture and given it a voice.’
