Hungry for fame! Bryce Ruthven’s ‘friend’ Jason Roses’ cringeworthy Australian Idol audition resurfaces – as he begs for a role on Gogglebox

He has been the breakout star of this year’s Married At First Sight after sensationally throwing his best friend Bryce Ruthven’s under the bus by exposing the former radio host’s secret girlfriend to his TV bride, Melissa Rawson.

But it appears that former Big Brother star Jason Roses has spent years trying to make it in the limelight.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that before attending Bryce’s televised MAFS wedding, the radio presenter tried to make it as a singer.

Unearthed footage shows the 33-year-old singing his heart out in a cringeworthy audition for Australian Idol.

A 16-year-old Jason is heard desperately trying to woo judges by singing 1959 Sound Of Music classic Climb Ev’ry Mountain.

‘I can sing it like Christina Aguilera my friends say,’ he assured the judges before he began singing extremely out of tune.

Having failed to impress the judges, Mark Holden is seen turning to Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson and Marcia Hines and urges, ‘Oh god no, Dicko please’, in an attempt to stop him before the clip abruptly ends.

Jason appeared on Big Brother back in 2014 – the same series as Skye Wheatley.

He was recently blasted into the spotlight after he attended his former ‘friend’ Bryce’s television wedding.

Jason and Bryce have since went their separate ways following his guest appearance on Married At First Sight.

During hometown visits, Jason and two of Bryce’s other pals sensationally threw him under the bus when they claimed he was ‘no doubt’ lying to his wife Melissa Rawson about having a secret girlfriend while filming for the show.

After the episode aired, Jason shared a photo of his appearance on the program to Instagram and confirmed the pair were no longer friends.

Jason appears to be making the most of his fifteen minutes of fame.

The self-proclaimed ‘Z list celebrity’ has been sharing press stories about his stint.

On Tuesday, Jason told his 79,000 Instagram that he feels like he ‘needs to be on Gogglebox’ following his appearance on the Channel 9 show.
