A clever Australian mum has shared a simple way to use leftover taco mince and ensure no food goes to waste.

Melbourne mum-of-two Adele Barbaro shared images with her 109,000 Instagram followers and recommended making mince-filled pastries with the excess food.

‘Save this little recipe hack for the next time you have taco night and have left over taco mince,’ she wrote.

‘I cannot tell you how good they are. Easy to make, no waste and absolutely delicious.’

The pastry snack is easy to make and only requires the leftover mince, grated cheese and puff pastry sheets. Adele also made a dip from sour cream, avocado and lemon juice

To make the tasty snack, Adele used slightly thawed puff pastry sheets cut into triangular shapes on a non-stick oven tray.

She then combined the grated cheese with the minced meat and carefully spooned the mixture in the centre of each triangle.

‘Press them closed and use a fork to ensure they are closed tight,’ she said.

The pastry triangles were then placed in the oven on 180 degrees Celsius until golden brown.

Adele also made a dip from two parts sour cream, one part smashed avocado and a squeeze of lemon juice seasoned with salt and pepper.
