Why MAFS bride Natasha Spencer stopped getting lip filler four years ago

Former Married at First Sight Natasha Spencer recently accused the Channel Nine show of ‘normalising domestic violence’.

And now the 27-year-old is turning her attention to the toxic beauty industry, revealing she stopped getting lip filler after a ‘botched’ procedure four years ago.

The influencer told The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday she wishes she ‘stopped sooner because I ended up looking distorted’.

Natasha also acknowledged there is ‘a lot more pressure’ on women to plump up their pouts now than ever before.

She blamed Instagram in part for that pressure, claiming that ‘a lot of people are going to plastic surgeons with photos of themselves with a filter on’.

Last year, Natasha became a marketing and communications executive for Lip MD, a lip-plumping product that’s free of dermal filler.

The product uses a two-step process of an applied lip ‘serum’ combined with ‘gentle suction’ via a vacuum that plumps lips ‘for about six hours’.

The former MAFS participant, who appeared on the show last year, has also weighed into the debate about Channel Nine’s duty of care to contestants.

Following current star Bryce Ruthven’s alleged gaslighting behaviour towards ‘wife’ Melissa Rawson on the show, Natasha has argued that Nine failed in its duty of care to her last year.

Natasha claims she suffered a total nervous breakdown during filming, and alleges production failed to appropriately deal with a troubling incident on set.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment.

Natasha has spoken out against production for not implementing trigger warnings before episodes or acknowledging potentially harmful behaviour that is being aired.

‘Instead, they’ve normalised domestic violence on our screens,’ she said. ‘They’ve given people the idea that this is normal because it’s appearing on our televisions.’

Natasha went on to quash arguments that participants ‘know what they are signing up for’ when applying for a dramatic reality television show like MAFS.

‘Nobody signs up to become a victim of mental abuse on national television,’ she said.

She argued that, as professional psychologists, the experts who made the match between Melissa and Bryce should have seen that she would be ‘at risk’.

‘She is quite obviously anxious attachment style and has a lot of insecurities… They’ve also screened Bryce who is a high rating narcissist and they’ve put them together,’ she claimed.

She encouraged her 80,900 followers to do the same and send a clear message that ‘we don’t want to see this on our screens’.

Bryce has been widely criticised since the show’s very first episode for appearing to gaslight and manipulate his bride.

On last Tuesday’s episode, following weeks of tension, Bryce planted an unwanted kiss on fellow contestant Beck Zemek’s cheek in an apparent attempt at humour.

The incident left Beck in a flood of tears while thousands of viewers expressed their outrage that the segment was allowed to air.
