‘Fill-in Today host Leila McKinnon added: ‘Our Today Extra host Sylvia Jeffreys gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Henry George Stefanovic.’

Proud uncle Karl revealed his baby nephew was born on Easter Saturday, weighing 3.5kg.

‘Mum is doing fantastic, I spoke to my bro, too…  he was downing a Rockford Basket Press [a shiraz] at the time and enjoying being a father again,’ he said.

Alex, who is expecting to welcome his third child with wife Bonnie Campbell, then added: ‘They call them Irish twins when they are so close together.’

The phrase ‘Irish twins’ refers to siblings being born one year apart.

Last year, Sylvia and Peter welcomed their first son, Oscar Hamilton, now one.

Just eight months after Oscar’s birth, the Channel Nine presenter revealed she was pregnant with her second child.

Sylvia conceived her first son Oscar via IVF, but has said her second pregnancy was ‘spontaneous’.

‘We hadn’t planned to go down that path so soon, but having had not an entirely easy path the first time around you can’t be anything but thankful and grateful to have fallen pregnant this way,’ she told The Australian Women’s Weekly.

She said many people had advised her against having boys 15 months apart, but she insisted they wouldn’t have it any other way.

‘I know it will be a lot to keep up with two turbo little boys, but for now I’m just embracing the beautiful chaos,’ Sylvia added.
