Carey Mulligan accepts the Cinema Vanguard Award for Promising Young Woman at the 36th Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Carey Mulligan has added yet another accolade to her trophy case, winning the Cinema Vanguard Award for Promising Young Woman.

The 35-year-old actress received the award virtually at the 36th Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Monday afternoon.

The award has previously been won by Laura Dern, Michael B. Jordan, Willem Dafoe, Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams.

The actress wore a white long-sleeved top as she accepted the prestigious award from the film festival.

She also wore a set of small earrings as her blonde locks fell to her shoulders while accepting the award.

The Cinema Vanguard award was established in 2008, honoring, ‘actors with the tenacity to forge new ground in their craft,’ with Ryan Gosling the first winner.

The award is just the latest Mulligan has picked up for her portrayal of Cassandra Thomas in Promising Young Woman.

She has won the Critics Choice Award for Best Actress, along with Best Lead Actress at the AACTA International Awards, Best Actress at the Hollywood Critics Association, Best Actress at National Board of Review awards plus numerous critics association awards.

The film is also up for five Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actress for Mulligan, Best Original Screenplay and Best Director for writer-director Emerald Fennell and Best Film Editing (Frederic Thoraval).

Mulligan will face Andra Day (The United States vs. Billie Holliday), Frances McDormand (Nomadland), Vanessa Kirby (Pieces of a Woman) and Viola Davis (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) for Best Actress at the Oscars.

Promising Young Woman follows Mulligan’s character Cassandra, a coffee shop worker who secretly plots her revenge for a traumatizing event in her past.

She stars alongside Bo Burnham, Laverne Cox, Jennifer Coolidge, Clancy Brown, Alison Brie and Adam Brody.

She most recently starred in Netflix’s The Dig, which debuted in January, alongside Ralph Fiennes.

The actress is attached to star in Maestro, a biopic about the life of composer Leonard Bernstein, directed by (and starring) Bradley Cooper.

She is also set to star in Fingernails, playing a young woman who becomes convinced her relationship with her partner is not real.
