Cardi B has vowed to be paid what she is worth as she sees what race and gender are factors in business deals.

The 28-year-old rapper was featured on the cover of the latest issue of XXL magazine as she got real about how she has been handling her finances.

She gave an example that she could be offered a $2million advance but the company itself could make something in the range of $50 to $100million.

Cardi explained: ‘And you settle for $2 million because they think that you’re so thirsty for that money that they just gonna give you the $2 million.’

The Be Careful hitmaker went on to say that although she doesn’t like to make everything about race, it does matter when it comes to making business deals.

She said: ‘I hate making everything about race because race do exist. Race is real. But I hate when sometimes people just want to make everything about race. 

‘It’s just like, sometimes you do see that race really matters and s*** because I’ve been seeing some influencers, that are not, you know, like me. Caucasian influencers. And they’re getting paid big money. I’m a whole artist.’

She said that she has looked into how much other artists have been paid for their services and found some ghastly numbers.

Cardi explained: ‘I’ve been doing my research now, heavy. And it’s like, Damn, muthaf***as is getting ripped the f*** off. And that’s why I’m like, Nah, I’m gonna get everything that I deserve.’ 

The Money hitmaker credits knowing her worth to why she has the drive to rake in bigger amounts of cash and says that her husband Offset actually helps her considerably when making big money moves.

She explained: ‘My husband, he’s really f***ing smart with numbers. I don’t pay him. I don’t pay him nothing.

Cardi also touched on her very controversial collaborative song WAP with Megan Thee Stallion as she said she was surprised by the conversation it sparked when it came to the sexuality.

She explained that she did not believe it was so shocking due to the female rap pioneers who came before her as she said: ‘I was really surprised by it because I’m like, I don’t understand what’s the uproar about it. 

‘I grew up listening to Trina and Khia and f***ing Lil’ Kim. Like, Lil’ Kim says some real nasty s***. Foxy [Brown] says some nasty s***.’

The rapper has had nine top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 since her breakthrough single Bodak Yellow in 2017.
